Dr Lau graduated from Monash University in 1995. He is a General Practice Family Physician who has an interest in Dermatology and went on to attain a Post-graduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University in Wales, UK in 2005. He is particularly focused in the field of dermatology, including skin tumours, allergies and other skin conditions. In the past, he has worked in major medical groups in Singapore, like Parkway Medical. He was instrumental in building the integrated medical practice with Resident GPs and in-house, as well as visiting Specialists. He was a founding partner in Healthsense Specialist Clinic and Supersight Lasik Clinic, Founder and Medical Director of Nihon Premium Clinic as well as owning a neighbourhood Family practice in Tiong Bahru.
Dr Lau is the Chairperson of the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia – Singapore Chapter. He has participated in medical missions to various countries (including Nepal, Mongolia and Japan) under the auspices of AMDA International, an NGO headquartered in Okayama, Japan. AMDA, founded in 1984 has carried out more than 200 missions in 65 countries over the last 38 years. Part of our profits was dedicated to AMDA's worldwide Emergency Disaster Aid Relief missions, Social Development projects and Vaccination programmes. AMDA holds General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) since 1995.
Dr Lau was an advisor to the National University Hospital GP CME Committee in 2003 & 2004. Dr Lau became a Associate member of the Singapore Dermatology Society in 2005 and is a member of the International Dermoscopy Society. He has been serving the local and expatriate community for the last 25 years. He is actively training doctors as well as mentoring 4th year medical students from the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Dr Lau strongly believes in holistic, preventative medicine and optimizing health outcomes with nutrition, exercise and positive lifestyle changes.
