The most common adverse reaction was injection site pain, which was mild and self-limiting.
Who is eligible for the Sinopharm vaccine?
It is an inactivated COVID-19 virus vaccine suitable for 18 year olds & above, with no medical history of anaphylaxis.
The Sinopharm vaccine is an alternative option for people who have previously been found unsuitable to receive the mRNA vaccines. This would enhance vaccination coverage against COVID-19 in Singapore.
Sinopharm (Inactivated COVID-19 vaccine BIBP) is developed by China National Biotec Group (CNBG).
What is the Recommended Dosage?
According to WHO, it is recommended to receive two doses with an interval of 3-4 weeks between the first and second dose.
SARS-CoV-2 viruses undergo evolution. Some new virus variants may be associated with higher transmissibility, disease severity, risk of reinfection, or a change in antigenic composition resulting in lower vaccine effectiveness. The efficacy of the various vaccines have not yet been evaluated in a context of widespread circulation of variants of concern.
Sinopharm COVID Vaccine may be administered as a COVID Booster shot for 18 years & above.
If you are interested in getting the Sinopharm vaccine or booster, please make an appointment at MD International Medical Centre Tel: 6694 1661.
* The World Health Organization reminds of the need to maintain and strengthen public health measures that work: masking, physical distancing, handwashing, respiratory and cough hygiene, avoiding crowds and ensuring adequate ventilation.
